01 Aug Ooh La La, A Month in France!
I had my heart set on visiting Paris and Amsterdam upon making plans to visit Europe for the summer. Amsterdam, check. Paris was about twenty hours out of our way en route to Ibiza on our road trip adventure. Needless to say I didnt get there immediately. After a month in Morocco it was time to figure out our next plan of action. How to get back to Asia, India?!? We could certainly figure this out from Paris and voila we arrived July 19. Phillipo drove and while he briefly met us in Paris, he continued on to his home in the Czech republic after a couple of days. Halala and I adventured around the city. The Eiffle Tower was mesmerising. The Arc de Triumph captivating. Then she too wandered around France before returning to her family back in Switzerland.
I went to Normandie to visit a friend for a few weeks and it was magical. Every morning the song from Beauty and the Beast would play in my head- little town, its a quiet village, everyday like the one before, little town full of little people, waking up to say: Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour!
I walked to the patisserie in the morning to get fresh baked bread and delicious sweets. Went on bike rides through the country. Absorbed the French language and culture. Splashed in the ocean, it was freezing. Too cold for me to immerse myself in so literally I got in and immediately splashed my way out. Enjoyed long dinners in the company of colourful characters. Played petanque. Ate, drank and smoked too much. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the country. France is charming and grand at the same time. I look forward to spending more time there in the future. Oui Oui, Ooh La La! XOXOXXX
